Committees

AARC has five committees, designed to increase the benefits to its running community. If you are interested in learning more, please contact the respective officer/chairperson.

      • Web Committee
        • Sponsored by the President, who is also the acting chairperson, this committee focuses on the operations and maintenance of the club’s Internet site. Members ensure the AARC site is current while also striving to increase its functionality for both potential and current members. Other social media tools will also be explored in the future. Please contact the President, if you are interested in learning more about this committee.
      • Social Committee
        • Sponsored by the Vice President, who is also the acting chairperson, this committee organizes all social events and special AARC runs. Members focus on increasing the both the quality and number of social offerings for club members throughout the year. If you have a idea for an event or would like to join the committe, you can email them at social@ashburnrunning.org
      • Go-Getters / Membership Committee
        • Sponsored by the secretary, who is also the acting chairperson, this committee is responsible for club marketing, new membership, member retention, and club tee-shirts. Members market the club, welcome new members, take tee-shirt orders and maintain membership records. If you would like to know more about the committee please email membership@ashburnrunning.org
      • Communications Committee
        • Sponsored by the Vice President, who is also the acting chairperson, this committee creates, distributes, and manages communications for the club. Members maintain the AARC Facebook Group, AARC Facebook Page, and write/distribute the monthly club newsletter.
      • Race Committee
        • Sponsored by the President, who is also the acting chairperson, this committee plans and executes all AARC-sponsored races. This is the committee that designs and puts on the Loudoun Half Marathon and 8k
