I ran my first 5k in 2002 and ran several more throughout the years. Then in March 2011, I ran my first and only half marathon. I trained well and finished with a respectable time. However, I also ended up in the hospital that weekend. Doctors advised me to consider not running- this only fueled my fire. Since then I run at least one race (10 miles or less) a month, it’s a streak I want to continue as long as possible.
I joined AARC in 2012 and have gained valuable friendships and experiences. I learned how to push and train hard but I also learned it is okay to run shorter distances and be at the “Back of the Pack”, especially this “Pack”! My goal for AARC in 2017 is to bring some fun and smiles to the club while continuing to work on our Membership, Marketing and Merchandise.
