Welcome

The Ashburn Area Running Club (AARC) is a non-profit running club for the greater Ashburn area, sanctioned and insured by the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA).

AARC has been named the Best Running Club in the Mid-Atlantic Region, by the readers of competitor Magazine for 5 years running. Recently the Loudoun Half & 8k, that we put on for the first time in 2013, was named the Best Half Marathon for the 2nd year running.

Whether you’re local to Ashburn, Leesburg, Sterling, or in the wider vicinity, all are welcome!

Our goal is to offer programs and scheduled group runs for all types and levels of runners in the area. We welcome beginners and experienced runners. Our training runs form pace groups typically ranging from 7 to 11 minutes per mile. We hope that you will join the club and not only support its events and participate in its programs, but find an area that interests you (membership, social events, races, etc.) and get involved. Some of you may already belong to an existing running or triathlon club, and we’d love to have you join this club as well.

Check out and join us on one of our scheduled runs listed below. We have at least one and sometimes two runs scheduled on six days of the week, and many of our members get together and run together on their own in smaller groups whenever it fits their schedules. So, come out and give us a trial run. We hope to see you out there!
